Research has shown that feeling lonely is the social equivalent to feeling physical pain. Loneliness in older adults can significantly impact their physical and mental health, increasing the risk of conditions like heart disease, stroke, dementia, depression, and even premature death. Aside from the effects on the elderly, it often causes their caretakers to feel guilty about leaving their elderly loved ones alone for extended periods of time.
That is why an important part of our program is to help our clients make social connections with others. We regularly conduct a range of social activities that provide opportunities for our clients to interact and have fun with others.
